p5 to 50+(50 and beyond) is a Processing Foundation Fellowship 2020 project. It aims to improve the digital literacy and rights of middle-aged and older creators in a non-Anglophone and super-aging society: South Korea. Along with the Korean translation of p5.js website, we will host a weekly workshop where participants of upper age group can critically engage with their own digital experiences with multi-sensory elements of p5.
p5 to 50+(50 and beyond)는 2020년 프로세싱 재단 펠로우십 프로젝트입니다. 프로젝트는 한국이라는, 비영어권 초고령화 사회 속 중장년 및 노년층 창작자의 디지털 문해력 및 권리를 향상하고자 합니다. 프로젝트는 50세 이상의 사용자를 대상으로한 p5.js 학습 자료 및 인터페이스 개발, p5.js 공식 홈페이지 한국어 번역, 그리고 코딩 교육 워크숍 진행을 포괄합니다. 특히, 워크숍은 통해 참여자들이 p5.js의 다감각적 인터랙션과 피드백을 통해 자신의 디지털 경험에 보다 비판적으로 참여할 수 있는 것을 목표로 합니다.
Project Lead Inhwa Yeom is a media artist and XR researcher. In her research projects, she designs, develops, and evaluates AR/VR systems for medical experiences, collaborative creations and learning, mainly in consideration of people with less familiarity or accessibility to 3D interfaces and interactions. Project Lead Seonghyeon Kim is a researcher and media artist working with graphics programming and technology. Currently being a Ph.D Candidate at Visual Media Lab of KAIST, his research interest lies on synthesizing the facial animation of a virtual character. As an undergraduate student, he established a programming club named “Chocoding” for over 100 designers.
프로젝트 리드 김성현은 그래픽 프로그래밍 기술 기반의 리서처이자 미디어 아티스트입니다. 현재, KAIST Visual Media Lab 소속으로 박사 과정에 재학중 입니다. 주요 연구 분야는 가상 캐릭터 얼굴 애니메이션 합성이며, “초코딩(Chocoding)”이라는 프로그래밍 클럽을 설립하여 100명 이상의 디자이너를 위한 교육을 진행한 바 있습니다.
